What did we learn?
During the task we learnt about the main horror shots we will need to use in the final piece, we also learnt what effect these horror shots can have on the audience. During the editing process we learnt about some more techniques that helped us to cut longer clips into smaller ones and how to merge clips to look like there is little editing used. We found most of the sound for the shots on final cut instead of downloading sounds from YouTube. This was easier and the sounds were good. In the final edit for the final opening sequence we will use more sound clips from the internet which will be more effective and realistic. We've used titles in this by inserting them into the right parts of the video, e.g. when we filmed the over the shoulder shot, we made sure that the text appeared at the right moment but didn't stay on the screen too much.
What were the problems?
A few problems we experienced were during the filming of the scenes. We couldn't find a lot of scary places or generally darker places to film, but finally settled on the stage for the majority of the scenes. Some of the scenes could have been filmed better with more effort put it but most of them turned out well. There were also some problems whilst editing, we couldn't remove all of the extra sounds at the end of some clips but most of it turned out well.
What would you do differently?
I don't think we could do a lot differently. The main things would be to make sure the editing is as good is it can be and to make sure we film everything on the same day or wear the same costume for scenes.
