Our task here was to film the fake blood that we made being tested. We tested it in various ways, including drinking and then dribbling/spitting it out. We also threw it on each other to demonstrate the splatter effect and see what type of consistency the blood was.
Types Of Blood:
Peanut Butter Recipe:
-Corn Syrup
-Red Food Dye
-Water
-Peanut Butter (crunchy or smooth)
Both versions of the peanut butter seemed to come out as a solid piece rather than as a liquid. However this gives the effect of eating brains or body parts like a tongue. The peanut butter blood will be good for films using the undead or for any scenes where a head is being crushed. The peanut butter blood also has quite a nice consistency but cannot be thrown or splattered.
Mint Blood Recipe:
-2/3 Cup Corn Syrup
-1/3 Water
-5 Tablespoons Corn Starch
-3 to 5 Teaspoons red food coloring
-2 or 3 Drops of green food coloring
-1 Drop of peppermint extract
The mint blood was a lot thinner and had a lighter consistency compared to the peanut butter blood. This blood could be used for any scenes that involve some sort of stab or blade inflicted wound. It could also be good for a splatter on a wall.
Gravy Blood Recipe:
-Gravy Granules
-Red Food Coloring
-Hot Water
The Gravy Blood can be used for the same reasons the Mint one can be used for but appears to be slightly thicker and is darker.
